I like to think of the Chicago Theater Blog as a "bulletin board" for the Chicago live theater scene – including reviews, news, video clips, theater website links, and even theater gossip. I am committed to getting as much original content and participation from other theater enthusiasts as possible, with the overall goal of prodding more people, including tourists, to experience the wonderful world of Chicago theater. As you can no doubt tell, live theater is a HUGE passion of mine, ever since my days of music-directing many a musical at Northwestern University. My second aim for this site is to acquire enough contributors – all of whom are pictured below – for this site, so as to cover every multiple-performance play that opens in Chicago. (which I feel has mostly been achieved) So if you have theater news that you feel is post-worthy (such as show extensions, personnel changes, cast replacements, upcoming shows and seasons, etc.), please send an e-mail my way.
Thanks for reading!
Sincerely,
Scotty Zacher

Could you tell me who designed your website.
Scotty and Review Crew–I love this blog! I’ve been accessing it for quite awhile now and appreciate the fine writing and the in-depth reviews–these reviewers are always right on target. I also want to say a very heartfelt thank you to Scotty for my daughter’s amazing ‘Billy Elliot’ experience. Opening night was by her account “AMAZING” and although it was just an experience to be in the same room with Oprah Winfrey, Jesse Jackson and of course the great ELTON JOHN (she excitedly texted me at intermission that Elton John brushed her sleeve as he passed and said “hello” to Scotty) the greatest experience was being carried away by the music and the power of the story. What a wonderful way to pass on the love of theater to the next generation!
I would just like to know what your submission requirements and deadlines are.
Hi, your blog is the spot I hop on to before I go check out any theatre in Chicago. The reviews are the most in depth and accurate. I was wanting to check out an intriguing play this weekend called Sun, Stand Thou Still. I had read the recommended reader review but Id prefer to hear your take. Will anyone be covering it? I think it runs 2 more weekends at Stage Left.
Thanks a bunch,
Steve
Hey Steve – thanks so much for the kind words – and thanks for reading!
I just posted the review for Sun, Stand Thou Still, which was reviewed by Robin Sneed. Look likes it would be worth it to check out the play.
all the best,

Friends, can you please take this very QUICK survey on your theatre going habits and preferences, to help us plan for some upcoming shows? Thanks! http://www.facebook.com/l.php?u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.surveymonkey.com%2Fs%2FGVK5XLN&h=f03b1
Why didn’t anyone come review Mascot/Dr. Persimmons at Rhino this year? I know it’s hard to make it to all the shows. Good news is that Mascot is probably going up again in the Spring so, if you don’t make it out tonight, hopefully you can check it out the next time around.
